A.      Intro

1.       Welcome to our first vlog about what’s happening at The Dudes Kitchen n Grill. My plan is to give a short review of this week’s video and to cover the next video. This is an excellent opportunity to get a behind the scenes look at what was going through my mind, some of the hang-ups, successes and failures.

2.       We are also going to cover upcoming video ideas, what issues to over come and plans for moving forward.

B.      The last video

1.       Earlier this week we released a Homemade pasta sauce served with Morel Mushrooms. Morels are a wild mushroom that grows in a lot of areas in the US but in the NW you tend to see then in wooded areas where a fire has previously went through. They are funky looking but meaty with tons of flavor.

2.       The trick to a good morel mushroom is the cleaning. I like to let them soak in warm water with a pinch of salt. Let them rest for about 30 minutes and do it again another 3 times.

3.       To store morels, I use a plastic bag, place a few sheets of paper towels inside the bag then wrapped in a paper bag.

4.       Cooking a morel is a treat as well, they are really watery, so I place them in a pan, cook on low heat and let the water come out.

5.       Adding the morels to a simply made pasta sauce I find is the best way to eat them but the sky is the limit when it comes to what you can do with a morel.

C.      Next week’s video

1.       Our video next week is all about Grilled Cheese taco sandwich! This video was born out of necessity, but man did it work.

2.       The hardest part of this cook was keeping the taco meat on the sandwich when I was flipping it. But if you put enough meat onto the sandwich and limit your flipping you should have enough to use with no problem

3.       There is a blooper in this video. At one point I mention that there is a method to my madness and that I was going to explain it, well, I didn’t. What I was going to say was “Cooking the unbuttered side of the bread first then flipping to the butter side allows for an extra barrier so the juice from the meat doesn’t sink into the bread if it passed the cheese".

D.      Upcoming videos

1.       I am currently exploring making a quesadilla. Thoughts are another taco quesadilla or a buffalo chicken quesadilla.

2.       Other video thoughts are doing a burger series. I really enjoy making chicken burgers but they can be a challenge so we will see.

3.       One follow up video I will be making is more homemade dog food. While the video was a flop, I really enjoyed making Zoey dinner and I think she enjoyed it as well.

4.       I am working on a screenplay currently for a one-off video that is like a tv sitcom. I won’t say much about it yet, but I think it will be fun.

5.       The bar arrives in July! Once it’s installed then the patio conversion should be complete. I look forward to sharing that with you!

E.       Closing

1.       There ya have it, Vlog 1 is in the can! Tell me what you think. Is a short video like this worth it? Should I add more? More video? I’ll be doing another Vlog next week so anything thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

2.       See you Tuesday for the Grilled Cheese Taco Sandwich and next week for Vlog 2
